Job Role:
As a Maintenance team leader, you will be tasked To lead and supervise a team of Maintenance Technicians. To ensure that production targets, EHS guidelines and quality objectives are met, by co-ordinating the effective maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment to the highest possible standards, using pro-active methods such as Predictive, Preventative, and Corrective Maintenance.
To be flexible around working pattern where required to support departmental holiday and sickness cover.
Typical Duties will involve:
Maintenance KPIs:
* To manage the operational performance of the Maintenance Team.
* Provide continuous support to Manufacturing through the management of repairs and prioritising breakdowns.
* Ensure the Maintenance department is managed to the appropriate auditing standards (ISO14001, IATF16949).
* Weekly Maintenance KPI data, and monthly reported KPI data.
Main Activities:
* Work with operational teams, prioritising, co-ordinating and planning the repair and service of all plant and machinery, in line with production targets and quality objectives.
* Ensure all maintenance work is carried out correctly to a high standard within legislative requirements.
* Take an active involvement in; repair, breakdown, and service, identifying and resolving problems within agreed timescales, as required.
* Supporting and completing project work, as directed, improving equipment and plant efficiency as part of the Continuous Improvement culture.
* Lead, supervise, support, and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians.
* Ensure Maintenance records and work database (SAP) are accurate and kept up to date.
* Ensure a good working relationship between suppliers / contractors used within the Maintenance department.
* Work flexibly and carry out any additional duties as requested.
* Maintain a safe working environment and actively support the continuing development of a safety culture across the site.
* Provide permits to contractors and ensure correct documentation is provided, e.g., Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Liability Insurance, plus any relevant licences for equipment.
* Assist and work closely with the Engineering department, as required.
* Be the on-shift contact for Maintenance escalation and technical issues.
Desirable experience
* Knowledge and experience of fault-finding, using PLC Systems, HMI's, DC drives, Inverter controls, and safety control systems (mainly Siemens / Mitsubishi).
* Comprehensive understanding of equipment- electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and their limitations etc.
* Knowledge and understanding of ABB 6 axis robots is desirable.
* Good, sound mechanical / electrical engineering background, i.e., an understanding of manufacturing processes, (automotive experience an advantage).
* Knowledge and experience of using SAP.
* Minimum of 5 GCSE between A - C (9 - 6) (including English and Maths).
* Fully Apprenticeship trained in Level 3 / 4 electrical or mechanical engineering.
* BTEC Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - HNC or above preferred.
* Significant experience working within a similar role.
* Experience of managing a team.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
