Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional Data Director to spearhead our ambitious expansion plans and drive data-driven innovation for one of our key Retail clients. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing global data strategies that align with the business objectives and position them as leaders in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies that support product and service diversification, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
* Lead and establish a best-in-class data team capable of supporting the growth of our organization and providing actionable insights.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies, including AI and ML, to enhance data quality, improve decision-making, and drive innovation.
* Ensure strategic alignment across Business Intelligence, Engineering, and Data Science teams, fostering collaboration and best practices.
* Oversee data collection, storage, and handling, ensuring compliance with regulations and data governance standards.
* Provide data-driven insights and analytics to support decision-making across the organization, from product development to customer acquisition.
* Manage team performance, set goals, and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering projects.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven track record as a Data Director or in a similar senior leadership role.
* Expertise in developing and executing data strategies that align with business objectives.
* Proficiency in evaluating and recommending new technologies, with a focus on AI and ML.
* Experience in managing and mentoring teams of Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts, and Data Science Engineers.
* Excellent people leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate technical experts.
* Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the retail industry.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Demonstrated resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
