About Music Vine & Uppbeat
A Leeds-based start-up launched in 2015, Music Vine has built a reputation as one of the world’s leading music licensing platforms for video professionals. At the heart of the company is a mission to democratise music licensing, providing productions of all scales with access to world-class music, while operating a model that is fair for artists.
In January 2021, Music Vine launched a brand new platform, Uppbeat, which aims to revolutionise how YouTubers and other content creators access music, while enabling musicians to earn from a booming untapped market.
About the role
We’re thrilled to announce this standout opportunity for an adept marketer to lead the marketing operations for the Music Vine platform, with the goal of amplifying our presence in the filmmaking and video production industries and driving business growth.
Having devoted recent years to the launch and development of Uppbeat, we're now eager to breathe new life into Music Vine's marketing strategies with renewed energy and innovation. This crucial role is your chance to head-up a focused marketing operation dedicated entirely to Music Vine, a platform renowned for its excellence.
We're searching for someone who thrives at the crossroads of creative storytelling and strategic marketing, with a keen understanding of our customer's industry specifics. Your insights into the filmmaking, video production, and agency sectors will be crucial in crafting marketing strategies that deeply resonate with our audience and propel our business forward.
Initially, you'll be the pioneering member of the Music Vine marketing team, with the backing of our existing team members. However, we expect you to swiftly onboard key contractors/agencies, as well as recruit junior team members to assist in executing your growth strategies.
Who you are
* We’re on the hunt for an experienced marketer who has a solid footing in the creative realms, notably those with a zest for filmmaking or video production. We want someone who understands the unique landscapes of these industries, equipped with the savvy to craft marketing strategies that are both creative and methodical. If you're skilled at producing visually compelling campaigns and appreciate the power of storytelling in marketing, you're likely a great fit.
* We appreciate individuals who are natural connectors, capable of nurturing strong relationships, and who have a good balance between analytical thinking and creative flair.
* This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a vibrant startup atmosphere, enjoys a mix of independence and teamwork, and is keen on the challenge of elevating a platform with massive potential.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and growth strategy for the Music Vine platform, focusing on industry engagement and brand visibility.
* Deliver on ambitious growth targets by strategising on how to achieve the maximum impact with efficient use of resources and time.
* Manage and execute campaigns across core channels including social media advertising, email marketing, partnerships & collaborations, and direct outreach.
* Collaborate with other departments and leverage shared resources and team expertise to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.
* Oversee marketing budgets, monitoring the performance of various functions as well as the team members and contractors under your leadership.
* Undertake customer and market research to guide strategic decisions and enhance the effectiveness of campaigns.
* Build-out and oversee CRM and lifecycle management to enhance customer relationships and retention.
* Operate independently on the Music Vine platform, while receiving guidance and support from the senior members of the Uppbeat marketing and management teams.
Experience & skills required
* A strong understanding and passion for filmmaking, video production, or a related agency context is highly desirable, with an emphasis on understanding our customers’ perspective, rather than a need for hands-on production experience.
* A minimum of three years’ professional experience in a digital marketing management role, with proven ability to deliver impact in a leadership position.
* Proven track record as a strong digital marketing all-rounder, with a particular focus on visual/media execution.
* Experience with email marketing and ESPs such as Mailchimp is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in partnerships development, CRM, data analysis, and paid media.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication. You will be confident building an engaged team, as well as building rapport with customers and contractors.
* Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with Google Workspace, CRM software, and analytics tools.
* A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred, though significant professional experience will also be considered.
Why work at Music Vine?
* Join a pioneering company at the forefront of the music licensing industry.
* Be part of a dynamic, supportive team with a passion for creativity and innovation.
* Impactful work: Your contributions will directly shape the future of Music Vine.
* Opportunity for growth and personal development in a role with significant autonomy.
* Enjoy our stunning Leeds office, flexible working arrangements, and a vibrant company culture.
