Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Buyer with a strong background in FMCG to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sourcing top-quality products, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet consumer demand.
Responsibilities:
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality FMCG and confectionary products.
* Identify and source new suppliers while evaluating existing ones to ensure competitiveness in pricing, quality, and delivery.
* Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers to secure the best prices, payment terms, and promotional support.
* Monitor inventory levels, analyze sales trends, and collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize overstock or stockouts.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
* Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure all procured products meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or service levels.
* Collaborate with various departments including sales, marketing, finance, and logistics to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
* Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier performance. Generate regular reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or buying roles within the FMCG or confectionary industry.
* Proven track record of successfully sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business needs and market dynamics.
