Kitchen Porter - £11.44 minimum plus holiday pay
Talent84 are looking for a number of Kitchen Porters to work in temporary ongoing roles in and around Durham.
The role of kitchen porter is to wash dishes, cutlery and kitchen equipment as well as sanitizing food preparation areas and keeping the floors clean. You may also be asked to occasionally help prepare food in the kitchen for chefs. It is important that kitchen porters are good communicators as working well as a team is vital in a busy kitchen environment. They must also be able to operate as part of a team, as they are likely to work alongside chefs, waitresses, and restaurant managers.Hours can vary, and shifts may be part time. Working at weekends, in the evenings and on public holidays is the norm. We often have different shift options to fit around other commitments you may have. Kitchen porter roles are perfect for people looking for first time jobs that work around them, we employ people from the age of 17+.The work environment is likely to be noisy and can be stressful at busy times, such as lunch and dinner.Responsibilities
