Arriva Traincare have a permanent contract opportunity for a HSEQ Advisor. Put your knowledge and experience to great use with this exciting and varied role as part of a rapidly evolving organisation. Our HSEQ office is based at our Tyne Yard depot, but you could be based at any of our 6 depots across the country inclusive of Bristol, Cambridge, Tyne Yard, Eastleigh and Scarborough.
You’ll receive a salary of £44,138 per annum, including, pension, healthcare cover, life cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Contract: Permanent working an average of 37.5 hours per week 08:00 – 16:00 (however start and finish times can be flexible)
What will this role of HSEQ Advisor entail?
Reporting into the HSEQ Manager as an HSEQ Advisor you will be responsible for providing all round health, safety, environment and quality support to ATC depots across the country. You will provide a key link between the HSEQ department and other departments across the business, by providing practical and proactive advice, to all employees, whilst maintaining ATC’s legal compliance. As the HSEQ advisor you will be helping to raise the standards through encouragement and coaching.risk
This is very much a ‘hands-on’ HSEQ Role. Candidates will be expected to spend part of their working day outside of the office environment, working outside or in maintenance environments.
Helping to write and undertake Risk Assessments and Work Instructions
Implementing HSEQ policies and procedures
Writing, reviewing and providing input to HSEQ policies, procedures and other documentation
Attending and contributing to HSEQ team meetings
Provide key environment health and safety knowledge to all employees / departments
Write, review, provide input to risk assessment / working instruction production – liaise with / support relevant colleagues
Support accident and incident investigation
Liaising with external health, safety or environmental related contractors where necessary
Visit ATC depots on a regular basis to provide support and guidance
What will I need to be considered for this HSEQ Advisor role?
Health and Safety – NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
IEMA Environmental Certificate or equivalent
Significant experience in a Health & Safety or Environmental Role
Risk assessment and COSHH experience
Be able to travel to other rail depots throughout the country whenever required
Previous experience of handling accident and incident investigation
A full and valid driving licence is essential
Although not essential, the below would be highly advantageous
Knowledge and experience of the Rail or Transport Industry
Knowledge and experience of Heavy Engineering
Experience with/ trained to internal auditor for ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO9001
