An opportunity has arisen in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for a permanent Band 7 senior clinical scientist role at 1.0 WTE in the blood sciences lab.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to be HCPC registered, or close to registration, as a Clinical Scientist and to have completed (or be near completion) of a post-graduate training programme in biochemistry (e.g. STP or equivalent). You are expected to have good scientific, analytical and clinical advisory skills, to support the technical lab staff, alongside good communication and team working skills. A significant part of your role will involve ensuring lab quality is maintained and the clinical appropriateness of our testing though audit and clinical liaison. Under supervision of more senior staff members, you will also have the opportunity to support major projects including verification of a new lab information management system and installation of new analysers. In addition to your daily work you would be expected to support the Duty Biochemist rota which includes participation in weekend working.
