As our Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing inspired solutions that address critical business and customer needs, capitalising on additive manufacturing technologies to create a distinctive advantage for Sulzer Services.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Provide engineering support and collaborate to motivate the conversion and optimization of low volume/complex geometry metal components from traditional suppliers to additive
2. Use product development experience, additive know-how, and out-of-the-box thinking to optimize product concepts that exploit the benefits of additive as well as address the limitations
3. Work with the product development team to undertake reverse engineering and design for additive manufacturing tasks to define 3D models and 2D drawings
4. By working with global teams to be entrusted with the management and further development of additive manufacturing processes in cooperation with material development and interdisciplinary departments
5. Analyse experimental results, draft conclusions, create standard procedures, and document all outcomes
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Strong enthusiasm for additive manufacturing/new technologies, established through personal projects or prior work experience
* Completed higher education in the field of mechanical engineering, physics, or similar
* Minimum 2 years of experience in working on metal additive manufacturing techniques
* Experience with mainstream 3D design software (AM design software) will be beneficial
* Knowledge of turbo machinery design and operation is considered advantageous
* Theoretical and practical skills in product design and project management
* Relevant professional experience in an industrial environment
* Innovative, communicative, and reliable
* Occasionally willing to travel worldwide
* Team player with remarkable social and communication skills
