Purpose of the role:
This new role will be part of the Operations and Development team and will be line managed by the Development andEngagement Manager (post currently being recruited).
You will join an ambitious and supportive organisation. We have a track record of funding success and existingrelationships with Scottish Government Funds and Charitable Trusts and Foundations. We have a fundraisingstrategy in place and a management team and board who all recognise the importance of developing a fundraisingculture throughout our organisation.
The Fundraising Manager will manage Clan Childlaw’s existing pipeline of Trusts and Grants, ensuring proposals,applications and impact reports are completed and relationships are developed. The post holder will also beresponsible for identifying new opportunities to grow the pipeline by researching and identifying newprospects.
Person Specification:
Ideally you will have experience of writing compelling funding proposals and managing relationships to securefive-six figure grants and philanthropic gifts. However, while knowledge and experience of fundraising isdesirable, we are happy to consider candidates who can bring relevant transferable skills from other sectorssuch as sales, marketing and business development. If you are an experienced relationship manager with a trackrecord in meeting/exceeding income targets, a commitment to high quality stewardship and a passion forstrengthening the rights of children and young people then we encourage you to apply. Membership of the PVG Scheme is essential for this role and the successful candidate will be required to apply forthe scheme and produce an acceptable PVG Scheme Record
LOCATION: Edinburgh or Glasgow – you can choose the location that works best for you, we operate a hybrid workingbetween office and home with 30% of your time expected in offices. There will be travel required between ouroffice locations on a regular basis and throughout Scotland.

About the Scottish Child Law Centre
We are a specialist hub protecting children’s rights in Scotland. We provide free legal advice about child law andchildren’s rights to promote equitable access to justice and specialist training which strengthens advocacy andsustainable support for the rights of the child. We also use evidence from our direct engagement and work withpartners to influence long term change for children.
Importantly, we are the only specialist hub for all ages of children and across all areas of child-related Scots’law. We are here for children, and those who care and support them, and all advice is provided by our qualifiedsolicitors.
Many more children and families are struggling with complex issues in the backdrop of increasing poverty, and demandfor our free legal advice has significantly increased. We also know from feedback that our specialist trainingis deeply valued in the current fast-moving children’s policy environment and as children’s rights areimplemented.

About the Role
Are you an experienced communicator and passionate children’s rights advocate? If so, we’d love you to hear fromyou.
We are looking for a communications officer to drive forward the Scottish Child Law Centre’s communications and tofurther raise our external profile and demonstrate our impact.
Ideally, you will also have experience of children’s policy and/or have worked with children and young people. Publicaffairs experience would also be valuable.
We are a supportive, creative and dynamic team and this is a new part-time post.
