About The Role
Introduction and overall purpose of the role:
•To supervise the daily waste & recycling provisions on a very high-profile site, you will be responsible for ensuring the high levels of waste re-cycling standards as expected and adhering to legislation requirements.
•You must lead by example and will be able to learn and demonstrate a strong supervisory and waste/site knowledge.
•You must be able to supervise a team of waste operatives and ensure they understand all areas of waste requirements, site regulations/expectations and Health & Safety.
•To ensure all waste is collected & standards are met to the contract specification.
Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role
•All external waste recycling points are serviced regularly.
•Ensure all external waste recycling points are tidy and litter free.
•Waste is correctly segregated and stored in a compliant manner.
•Liaising with internal booking department and OCS waste suppliers.
•Ensuring all legislative documentation is completed correctly.
•Completing regular waste compliance checks throughout the waste compound and site.
•Maintaining OCS and site equipment by liaising with rental suppliers.
•Undertake regular waste compliance audits with OCS and JLR site representation (ad hoc external waste supplier auditing).
•Ensuring all members of the waste team are adorned in full OCS uniform and appropriate PPE.
•Where appropriate, liaise with local building managers to build strong rapports.
Role Specification
•GCSE or equivalent preferable
• Previous experience – desirable/essential for technical competence of the role
•A full valid driving license is essential – use of an OCS flatbed truck (3.5T).
•Current/valid Forklift counterbalance licence.
•Be flexible to cover other JLR waste sites as required (own transport would be required).
•Be competent with the use of computers and IT skills (learning and understanding the OCS and JLR systems for example eTrackers and Safety Reporting).
•Work tasks involved are both internal and external working proactively alongside your team.
•You will be required to work with waste machinery such as a cardboard baler, waste compactor, tyre shear (full training provided).
•You will also be required to undertake waste duties, both routinely and as required alongside supervision requirements.
•Undertake team training and development on a regular basis.
• Full UK driving licence
• To cover for annual leave and sickness on all other JLR sites when necessary
• Need to have experience in ADR and hazardous waste streams
You will be working Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 15:00 on a full-time basis, 40 hours per week.
