Butcher - Bruton
Butcher - Durslade Farm Shop, Bruton
About Durslade Farm Shop
Durslade Farm Shop is a community farm shop which celebrates the best growers, farmers, makers and artisans its area has to offer. Inspired by Durslade Farm's fresh and seasonal produce which was only shared with Roth Bar & Grill, it was created to share this harvest more widely, from meat and fruit to vegetables and foraged finds. It promotes and shares local talent, supporting small projects with big futures and working with established ones to create special products that can only be found there. The team believes in building long-lasting relationships and are always looking for like-minded partners to support and stock.
The Farm Shop opened at Durslade Farm in Bruton, Somerset in 2020. In 2023 it was awarded Specialist Butcher's Shop of the Year and many of our fresh and ambient products have won Great Taste awards over the past two years.
We're on the lookout for people who share our passion for seasonality and sustainability and will champion both our farm and the talented growers and makers who help create our product.
Your Role
By joining our award-winning Farm Shop butchery team, you will have access to both cattle (Angus, Hereford, Wagyu cross) and sheep from our Somerset farm. Low input and free range, animal welfare and best practice is our highest priority. Other meat is sourced from farmers and breeders who share our ethical and sustainable values.
We are looking for someone to work under the Butchery Manager and support the Junior team. You will help with preparing the meat and other products sold on the butchery counter, dealing with full carcasses and sausage making along with:
helping to develop a seasonal, innovative product range for the counters
Ensuring displays are fresh and well stocked for the season
Health and Safety and Food Alert compliance
