Commercial Director
Location: Northwest-based HQ - regular access required
Base salary to £140,000 + executive package including car, bonus, LTIP
You’re an outright sales leader with a recognised track record of success in Industrial markets, preferably across international geographies beyond the UK, where direct customer and Distributor Management are the obvious routes to market. Right now, your career is simply not enough to fuel your ambition or personal reward. You are ready to positively disrupt an industry and make a serious name for yourself.
Your talent and skill as a profound expert in developing and winning major corporate partnerships is without question. You are someone with considerable experience in leading teams. You have a relentless drive to win large-scale sales pitches knowing exactly how to structure business development processes and measures.
Our client is a proven international name as a manufacturer of industrial materials that make a difference to industry and consumers the world over in everyday use. A complex product manufacturing process sets this business ahead of its competitors, that’s the USP! With revenue heading towards £40m, this subsidiary, part of a wider £120m conglomerate, has recently made significant capex investment, and is now ready to step change performance by raising expectations to build value generative enterprise at pace.
Reporting to the MD, with a seat on the Exec table, your critical responsibility will be to raise the expectations of the international sales team, managing existing customers with excellence at all times, as well as winning new customers. You will love the idea of pioneering unchartered territories, particularly international markets, where the majority of revenues are generated directly or via a Distributor network. With a growing team under your direction, you’ll bring rigour and discipline, a passion for the drivers that make the numbers jump off the P&L as well as structure and high standards of performance. Your understanding of the basic principles in marketing will also be put to test as you lead the marketing plan, and a small team in place to do so. Above all, you desire to make a significant impact on the organisation’s commercial objective for high-value growth and build sustainable long-term revenue-generating partnerships with big-name multi-sector corporates.
You’ll love to deliver at pace. Making decisions independently, often with high-octane commercial wit and creativity. Ambiguity will be naturally comfortable for you. Your communication and personal approach need to be engaging and inspiring at all levels, especially amongst your Board colleagues.
To qualify, you’ll need to demonstrate an undisputed track record in international sales and Distributor Management as well. Strong commercial curiosity is very much desired.
