Job Description
The company is looking to hire a Special Process Engineer due to continued growth, an expanding range of fabrication techniques, and an increase in production output. The role involves working alongside the Quality Manager and being responsible for all Nadcap accredited processes (e.g., Heat Treatment, Welding, etc...). The Special Process Engineer ensures that internal audits are conducted, and appropriate systems are embedded within the business's QMS to meet quality standards required by internal procedures, customers, and regulatory bodies. This role plays a crucial part in driving customer satisfaction and acts as an escalation point for all special process-related concerns.
Responsibilities
1. Identify process and product improvements to relevant departments and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
2. Lead investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions including handling customer complaints.
3. Perform internal audits using Nadcap audit checklist, manage non-compliance, and lead external regulatory and Nadcap audits.
4. Create data cards, review and approve QMS documentation, ensure equipment calibration, analyze data, and amend procedures as required.
5. Conduct training, complete concessions, liaise with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, review non-conforming products, and raise engineering change requests.
6. Promote company policies and comply with relevant rules and procedures including health & safety, business management system, and data protection.
Experience Required
* Knowledge of Nadcap special processes.
* Experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
* Minimum of 2 years of previous management experience.
* Strong time management skills with an attention to detail.
* IT literate to an intermediate level.
* Specialize in one or more of the following areas: Heat Treatment, Welding, Chemical Processing, NDT, Laser Cutting.
* Familiar with AMS2750 Pyrometry requirements and MRP systems.
* Understanding and management of regulatory approvals such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer requirements like Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney.
* Proven track record of project management success and experience in auditing modern standards like ISO9001 at lead auditor level.
* Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
* Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree, or equivalent qualification.
