Job Description
SRG's client is a cutting edge biotechnology company based in Edinburgh developing novel therapies for the treatment of cancer and fibrosis. The company have had great success over the past 5 years since spinning out, and have grown their lab based and operations team with this.
A key member of their team is going on maternity leave and they are looking for a scientist to cover on an initial 1 year contract with the potential to become permanent.
The role
This position is vital to the operating of this organisation, you will work alongside a highly skilled team of drug discovery scientists assisting in the research & development of the company's drug discovery programme. This involves developing target screening assays using IPS Cells & macrophages, the candidate will be required to design and perform experiments, you may also be involved with the supervision of more junior members of the team.
The person
* Demonstrable experience developing and carrying out target validation assays
* Practical experience and a good theoretical understanding of molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry
* Prior experience working with human stem cell culture and differentiation protocols for multiple lineages
* Prior experience in the industry is desired but applicants with a rich academic background will be considered
* Good knowledge of fibrosis assays is preferable but not essential
