You, the candidate need to be an experienced medical journalist or news reporter who specialises in writing clinical/medical news and able to write and report on breaking news and features for specialist doctor audiences. An experienced journalist with a keen interest in health and medicine may also be a consideration.
A leading and independent medical news publishing platform for specialist doctors, having made its mark in the specialist doctor news landscape by providing insightful, independent and thought-provoking journalism, requires an experienced Medical Journalist/Reporter to join its growing UK team.
Reporting to the Editorial Director, you, as the Medical Journalist/Reporter in the UK, will be key to delivering high-quality news content to specialist doctors and KOL audiences, with unique insights from clinical experts that set the title apart from competitors.
Your accountabilities include the following:
* Sourcing and writing clinical and medico-political news for our professional medical audiences
* Building contacts and connections with key experts in the specialist diseases areas
* Delivering medical news formats for online content, including podcasts, social media and videos
* Attending and reporting on medical conferences in the UK and Europe
* Writing daily updated clinical and medical news stories.
Key attributes:
* A background in science and health reporting for specialist doctors and KOL audiences
* A network of contacts within your expert areas (clinicians, NFPs and relevant consumer organisations)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate with and write high-quality copy for an expert medical audience
* Experience in a fast-paced news reporting environment
* Experience using content management systems, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
