PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY -
We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Administrator to provide services for our Glasshouse and Laboratories based in the Stockbridge Technology Centre.
You will be instrumental to Organisational success by ensuring the smooth running of our glasshouse trials, and act as a key contact between the Research Scientists in Stockbridge, the wider Operations team the Stockbridge Technology Centre, and external support such as IT.
You will primarily be responsible for managing the purchasing and inventory levels of critical consumables for the research team. You will also be responsible for managing day to day administrative tasks for the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -
1. Generation of purchase requests for laboratory and glasshouse consumables. (20%)
2. Ensuring delivery of items in a timely and efficient manner (10%)
3. Receiving and distributing deliveries, both physically and on our ERP system (20%)
4. Maintain a well organised storeroom. (10%)
5. Carry out regular stock takes to ensure accuracy of stock levels (10%)
6. Generate requisitions for office/kitchen supplies and maintain an office store. (5%)
7. Booking of staff activities, both socials and work related (5%)
8. Manage the induction process for new staff (5%)
9. Support H&S activities on site. Document and follow up on actions noted during H&S audits and walkarounds (5%)
10. Maintain training records for Stockbridge staff. (5%)
11. Support senior management and external visitors to site (5%)
12. This role is not restricted to the above and encompasses any support activities that facilitate the smooth running of the laboratory-based operations. As the company grows, your role could vary as required to support further operational and support functions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
Previous experience working in role with elements of technical administration.
3 GCSE’s, grade C or above. (Must include English and Maths)
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Office 365.
Experience with a commercial ERP/Finance system such as NetSuite.
Experience placing and receiving orders.
Good communication skills
Desirable
Experience working with NetSuite ERP software.
Experience working as part of a customer facing team.
Experience reading and understanding H&S related documentation such as risk assessments, standard operating procedures and COSHH assessments.
