Do you have what it takes to resolve issues and problems in production applications for the British Library?
Can you work with a wide variety of library users to deliver changes to services? For example, upgrading our Digital Library Systems?
Would you like to be part of a team? Something you can be proud of whilst enjoying the benefits of working in the Public Sector?
The British Library has a rare opportunity for an Application Specialist in our Ingest and Preservation team, based in Boston Spa (Wetherby), (requirement is to be in the office two days a week at present, with the possibility that this will increase in future).
If you work for us, you will be helping to support and develop British Library services and more, as well as getting involved with many exciting new projects.
We will take care of you with:-
* Flexible working
* 25 days annual leave, plus 2.5 privilege days (plus Bank Holidays on top!)
* Employers Pension Contribution of 26.6% - 30.3%. For example, if you contribute £1580 p.a. into your Civil Service Pension, the British Library will contribute £7859 p.a.

About you;
* Experience of supporting, configuring and monitoring of third party/packaged or bespoke applications
* Experience of operational acceptance testing and deploying changes to production systems using appropriate controls
* Excellent communicator and demonstrable ability to work as part of a team to agreed customer service levels and SLAs
* Proven problem solving skills using a logical and considered approach
* Proven systems analysis and documentation skills
* Experience of data migration and file management
* Experience of supporting applications in a windows environment
* Knowledge and experience of SQL database querying
