Job title: Finance Assistant
Responsible to: Finance Lead
Summary: As the Finance Assistant you will assist the Finance Lead and work with the wider finance team in the running, managing, processing and troubleshooting of accounts, payrolls, transactions and other finance-related tasks and queries.
Main Duties:
Accounting
* To bank and process all receipts, whether standing orders, cheques or cash or any other means
* To process standing orders, direct debits and gift aid
* Providing assistance in preparation of claims to the Inland Revenue including gift aid
* To assist with the maintenance and editing of databases and donor information
* Maintain payable ledger by verifying and posting account transactions
* Pay suppliers – monitoring of services/goods to ensure they have been supplied to the required standards and all internal controls have been complied with. Liaison with vendor and staff to achieve timely resolution
* Follow up on all invoices for payments within a timely manner and within the date issued on the invoice
* Process and prepare financial and business forms for checking account balances, facilitating purchases etc
* Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Lead
