Leading rail main contracting organisation seeks a proven Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their York based team on a 24 month contract.
The role offers hybrid working but candidates will need to be in the office 3 days a week with the rest worked from home.
This role will see you work on a major rail programme so candidates must have experience working for a main contractor in the rail industry. If you have experience of working on rail systems projects this would be an advantage but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Proactively administer Sub-contract accounts from project start up through to final account.-
* Accurately report Sub-contract liabilities
* Raise Sub-contract payments and issue notices strictly in accordance with contractual and legal requirements.
* Provide records which identify progress, delays and controlled change management, contributing to event registers and entitlement documentation, so that timely actions can be completed
Job Requirements:
* Experience working in contracting commercial department. Ideally working on rail systems projects
* Able to provide guidance on quantification, costing of construction works and task elemental cost analysis
* Appreciation of conflict avoidance, management and dispute resolution procedures.
