Barchester's procurement team have a new opportunity for a Procurement Assistant to join the Barchester family. Offering hybrid working, with 3 days in our established Warrington office and 2 days working from home.
The Procurement Assistant will provide a high level of administrative procurement support to the Category Leads, stakeholders and Homes / Hospitals across the estate.
Assist in tenders and contract management processes, liaising with contracted suppliers to negotiate good value for money and ensure smooth delivery of goods and services.
Use the source to pay system to update key information along with data analysis to review key trends and support the wider procurement team in effective purchasing decisions.
On successful completion of a 6-month probation period, this role offers the opportunity to complete a fully funded Level 4 Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPs) Apprenticeship.
Duties & responsibilities:
* Support all homes and operational functions with procurement enquiries.
* Oversee new supplier onboarding in collaboration with the Accounts team.
* With support from the Category Lead manage supplier relationships and include internal stakeholders and other functions as and when required.
* Manage supplier product and price file updates and communicate changes internally.
* With support arrange and attend supplier review meetings and follow up actions to completion.
* With support assist with category management in the contract management process, tenders and ensuring smooth delivery of goods and services.
* Ensure all supplier administration is kept-up-to-date within the filing parameters set.
* Provide data analysis to support the Category Lead's decision making.
* Work on projects to develop strategic business relationships to add value that provide financial and non financial benefit to Barchester.
* Monitor supplier compliance and provide reporting based on the results.
* Sending surveys to homes and reporting on the results.
* Any other reasonable task requested by the line manager which is within your competence.
Required experience and qualifications:
The role would suit a graduate or a buyer with several years experience looking for their next career step
Computer literate with a good standard of Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
Positive and proactive attitude
Good communication skills with the confidence to speak to stakeholders and suppliers
A calm approach with a willingness to learn and develop
