Job Description
At Pennmark Management Company, we’re building communities, not just properties. Our Multi-Residential Division is expanding, and we’re looking for an Assistant Development Project Manager who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and grow into a future leader in multi-family development.
In addition to supporting the division’s pipeline of new developments, this person will play a key role on Pennmark’s flagship Harrisburg project—the transformation of the former Polyclinic Hospital into 230+ apartments and retail space. This high-profile redevelopment will provide unique hands-on experience in adaptive reuse, urban entitlements, and large-scale construction.
What You’ll Do
• Report to the Director of Multi-Residential Development to support ground-up and adaptive reuse apartment projects.
• Assist in evaluating new opportunities: research sites, gather market data, and help build financial pro formas.
• Keep projects moving—track schedules, budgets, and milestones while ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and Pennmark’s in-house teams.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and municipal approval processes.
• Help prepare financing packages, lender submissions, and draw requests.
• Visit job sites to monitor construction progress and report back on project updates.
• Research materials, systems, and vendors to inform project decision-making.
• Maintain contracts, meeting minutes, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Jump in wherever needed to keep projects on track.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Development, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in development, construction management, or project coordination (multi-family experience a plus).
• Strong organizational and time management skills—you can juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the details.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project); bonus points if you know Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset—you don’t just spot issues, you bring solutions.
• Ability to thrive independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Why Join Pennmark?
This isn’t just a supporting role—it’s a launchpad. You’ll gain direct exposure to all facets of multi-residential development and play a key role in helping to shape Pennmark’s growing portfolio. High-performing team members have a clear path to advancement into a Development Project Manager role within the Multi-Residential Division.
You’ll also have the unique opportunity to be directly involved in the redevelopment of the former Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg—one of the region’s most exciting adaptive reuse projects.
