This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering project management experience to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects and deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions, both above and below ground.
What you will be doing as an Engineering Delivery Manager
We are seeking a commercially astute and motivated person to provide MEICA and Civil Engineering construction solutions across Thames Water's process and network functions, on both Clean and Wastewater Assets. You will ensure that health and safety requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications, commercial objectives, and program deadlines are met promptly.
The main areas of focus will include:
1. Being an integral part of the growing Capital Maintenance Projects team.
2. Managing the procurement process, framework suppliers, and sub-contractor supply chain involved in site-based construction activities.
3. Being directly responsible for resource management and the training, development, and support of Project Engineers.
4. Providing estimates, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
5. Ensuring delivery of all construction projects on the program with 100% compliance with client specifications.
6. Managing the client’s site requirements, ensuring minimal impact on operational functionality.
7. Delivering all projects within legislative, CDM, and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR.
The base location for this role will be Lane End in South East London, with travel across the area. It requires being office-based 5 days per week.
For this role, a driving license is required as a car allowance is provided.
Hours of work are 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
1. Experience in a commercial and technical role, preferably with a degree/HND in engineering and/or business administration, with post-qualification experience.
2. A proven track record in project management within an engineering environment, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
3. Management of procurement processes, framework suppliers, and subcontractor supply chains involved in site-based construction.
4. Responsibility for resource management and the training, development, and support of staff.
5. Ability to deliver projects on time with full compliance to client specifications.
6. Capability to ensure projects meet legislative, CDM, and regulatory standards, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR.
