The Radiology department at Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Hospital is looking for a Band 3 Radiology Support Worker. The successful candidate will support patient care across the Radiology department, including the Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology, helping the Vascular Access Team and assisting patient flow through CT, MRI, DEXA, Ultrasound, and Plain Film. The role includes supernumerary status for the first four weeks as part of our specialist training programme.
Responsibilities
* Supporting patients undergoing interventional procedures in the recovery and procedure suite clinical areas.
* Supporting patient flow through CT, MRI, DEXA and Ultrasound, working within the Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology and with the Vascular Access Team when inserting vascular access devices.
* Responding appropriately to clinical emergencies to ensure patients receive appropriate care.
* Participating in the admission process under the supervision of the Registered Practitioner.
* Attending a cannulation study day, including pre‑course learning and completion of competency packs.
* Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels in the department and ordering as appropriate.
* Keeping the clinical area clean and tidy, maintaining a safe environment.
* Transferring patients between the ward and radiology department.
