Qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
* Able to design and develop infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, drainage systems, and signalling, with key experience to demonstrate this
* Experience in conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints
* Able to prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
* Able to oversee and manage project execution and work with the Project Manager, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
* Proven ability to collaborate with designers, planners, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate engineering solutions
* Ability to perform and review engineering calculations, simulations, and modelling
* Detailed knowledge of local authority and industry regulations and standards, and experience at ensuring compliance with these
* Able to identify and resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions to complex problems
* Expert in preparing and presenting reports, proposals, and project documentation
* Working towards or achievement of Chartered status
* Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation)
* Experience with sustainable design practices and environmental considerations
* Knowledge of emerging technologies and innovations in civil engineering
