Permanent, Part‑time (0.6) – funded for the 2026/27 academic year onward. The successful candidate would not be expected to commence before August 2026.
Role Overview
The Creative Industries School at Kingston College is seeking a passionate and industry‑savvy Media Lecturer to deliver engaging and practical vocational content across a range of courses and levels. The role requires a dynamic, proactive, and experienced educator who is highly organised, and committed to academic and pastoral support for students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging, industry‑relevant teaching and support students in developing higher‑level skills and understanding of past, present, and future trends in Creative Media.
2. Utilise a range of media production techniques and knowledge in areas such as radio, podcasting, audio, journalism and print, film and TV broadcasting, social and online media, visual effects, motion capture, and animation; include production management.
3. Apply strong digital skills and use relevant software, particularly Adobe Suite (After Effects, Premiere) and audio software.
4. Monitor and support at‑risk learners, helping them to achieve or exceed their potential, and implement evidence‑based teaching, learning and assessment.
5. Leverage industry knowledge to support meaningful work experience and industry placements, integral to the Study Programme offer.
Qualifications and Experience
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) and recognised as a good or outstanding teacher.
* Degree or higher qualification, or an equivalent professional qualification, in a subject area relevant to Creative Media.
* Experience in monitoring and supporting at‑risk learners.
* Strong industry knowledge to support work experience and placements.
