We are seeking a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join our high performing UK team. If you thrive on challenges, love building relationships and have exceptional communication skills, this is the role for you.

This is a dynamic role for an ambitious individual looking to launch their career in a pre-sales capacity, with a unique opportunity to engage with senior leaders and large organisations across all sectors.

This is not your average 9-to-5 job, it's a chance to make a real impact and shape the future of our business.

Below we’ve included more details on:

1. Why join BoardOutlook?

1.1 A purpose-driven mission

Our mission is to make Boards and Executive teams better now and into the future. Why? Because we know that an effective Board and Executive team is critical to an organisation's success. This means better outcomes for all stakeholders and society.

1.2 A team of seasoned leaders

You will join a team of high-calibre leaders with experience spanning unicorns, top-tier professional services, boardrooms and governance advisory. You’ll collaborate daily with colleagues deeply committed to impact, excellence and learning.

We are driven by five core values that form the foundation of our work ethos:

* Simplicity: We prioritise simplicity and avoid complexity
* Attention to detail: Every detail matters, and we take pride in getting them right.
* Urgency: We commit and execute with urgency, ensuring swift action.
* Generous investment: We invest generously in each other’s growth and success.
* Optimism and ambition: We pursue ambitious goals and strive for outsized wins.

If you thrive in an environment where ownership, high standards and collaboration are central, you’ll excel at BoardOutlook.

1.3 Ambitious growth plan

BoardOutlook is well-capitalised and scaling fast. We already partner with Boards across the Middle East, North America, South America, Europe and Africa - this is a rare opportunity to help accelerate a global category-defining company.

1.4 The nuts and bolts

* Employee share plan
* Professional development opportunities and mentorship
* Collaborative and innovative work environment
* Chance to make a significant impact in a growing company

2. About this role:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding BoardOutlook’s footprint across the UK and Europe, particularly with large listed and complex organisations.

You will:

* Leverage your existing network of Company Secretaries, Chairs, Directors and governance leaders to open high-quality conversations.
* Build and execute relationship-led go-to-market strategies across priority sectors.
* Take ownership of a revenue number and deliver consistent results.
* Cultivate deep understanding of governance priorities, board effectiveness challenges and regulatory expectations.
* Lead sophisticated sales conversations with senior stakeholders, positioning BoardOutlook as a trusted strategic partner.
* Drive pipeline creation, qualification and conversion with discipline and accuracy.
* Represent BoardOutlook at governance forums, conferences and industry events.
* Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing and Client teams to shape how we engage senior board stakeholders.
* Develop high-quality proposals, presentations and pitch materials.
* Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene and ensure visibility of pipeline performance.

And over your first twelve months:

* Own a market segment and deliver growth against agreed targets.
* Build a repeatable approach to engaging FTSE-listed and large private organisations.
* Contribute thought leadership to help position BoardOutlook as the governance partner of choice.
* Establish yourself as a trusted commercial leader within the team.

3. About you:

We’re looking for a relationship-driven commercial professional who is deeply comfortable in the governance environment.

You will bring:

* A strong, established network of Company Secretaries, governance leaders, Chairs and NEDs.
* Credibility and confidence engaging senior leaders and board members.
* Commercial acumen with experience managing a sales pipeline and delivering against targets.
* Strong knowledge of corporate governance, board dynamics and regulatory expectations.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
* Curiosity and a growth mindset, with enthusiasm to learn new technologies and AI tools.
* Strong organisational discipline and attention to detail.
* Experience working in or selling to large, complex organisations (FTSE or equivalent).
* Degree or equivalent experience.
* Permanent right to work in the UK.

Who you are:

* A relationship-builder who enjoys meaningful conversations.
* Professionally mature and commercially sharp.
* Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in finding opportunities.
* Energised by governance, board performance and strategic leadership.

4. Compensation:

Our compensation package for this role is £50K - 60K plus pension. We also offer a generous ESOP (share option) grant. The ESOP will give you meaningful financial participation and upside in the success of the business.

5. Hiring process:

5.1 What you can expect from our hiring process

Our hiring process at BoardOutlook is designed to test three areas:

* Your ability to deliver in a senior commercial role
* Your approach, mindset and leadership style
* Your alignment with our culture and values

For most roles you can expect to undertake three interviews plus a practical test. We respect your time in applying for a job, so you can expect rapid decisions after each phase - we typically try and get back to you in days rather than weeks.

5.2 How to apply

To apply for this role we are asking you to submit a short email explaining why you are interested in this role, with a written outline of your relevant experience - this can be an attached CV.

Please send your application including these details to talent@boardoutlook.com – Please make sure you include “UK BD Manager” within the subject line of your email.

***We’ll be in touch if your application matches our requirements.
