Personal Assistant
Hours - 6 hours per week, evenings and weekends, during term time and 10 hours per week during school holidays.
Salary - £18 per hour, paid every 4 weeks.
Location – Bishopbriggs
PVG Scheme membership required by successful applicant. The cost of joining the scheme/ the initial update will be covered by the employer, upkeep of the PVG is the responsibility of the Personal Care Assistant.
As a Personal Assistant to our 8-year-old autistic, non-verbal son, your role would be to enable him to be more independent and empower him to achieve greater autonomy in his daily life.
Part of your role would be to escort him to leisure or other appropriate social/recreational activities providing supervision and guidance to ensure safety. A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle would be essential.
You would be assisting with daily tasks to ensure the comfort and well-being of our son (including help with some aspects of personal care) as well as managing and responding to challenging behaviours with sensitivity.
You would also be expected to be able to respond to any medical emergency as required.
Previous experience of supporting children and/or supporting young people with disabilities/additional support needs required.
