We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Inorganics Department in Coventry. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all samples are processed to the required standards, quantities and deadlines, in full compliance with our Quality Management System. Acting as a key support to the Team Leader, you will provide supervision, training and guidance to analysts, helping to maintain excellent service delivery and uphold our commitment to accuracy, reliability and customer satisfaction. Role Hours Per Week: 37 Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00) Contract: Full Time and Permanent Salary: £27,636 per annum Hiring Manager: Matthew Colville Closing Date: Thursday 18th December 2025 The Day to Day As a Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will include: Ensuring all samples are completed accurately, on time and in line with our Quality Management System. Providing daily supervision of analysts in the absence of the Team Leader, offering clear instruction, support and guidance. Supporting the Team Leader in planning and organising daily workloads and contributing to team meetings. Assisting with resource management to ensure service delivery targets and Company KPIs are consistently met. Interpreting and reporting analytical data to a high standard. Training colleagues, assessing competency and ensuring ongoing compliance with required standards. Communicating relevant information to Customer Services and addressing customer complaints and queries. Working collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient flow of samples through the laboratory. Investigating and reporting non-conforming work and applying analytical problem-solving skills. Monitoring rework and taking steps to reduce it to a statistical minimum. Adhering to all Health & Safety policies, raising concerns proactively, using required PPE and reporting incidents or near-misses. The Essentials We are looking for someone who can bring a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership capability. You will need: A minimum of HNC/HND in a relevant scientific subject (or equivalent). Significant laboratory experience with in-depth knowledge of environmental testing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organisational abilities, with confidence in prioritising both your own workload and that of others. High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records. Clear and effective communication skills. Good IT proficiency. A comprehensive understanding of Quality Management Systems. The ability to critically evaluate and draw sound conclusions from scientific data.
