Ocean Housing (Ocean) is a Cornwall based housing provider with nearly 5,000 homes, serving over 7,000 customers, providing safe, high-quality homes and services that improve lives. Our mission is, 'To be an innovative provider of quality homes and services, with residents and staff at the heart of Ocean, and Ocean at the heart of the community'.
This is an exciting time to join Ocean as it moves towards a more streamlined governance structure in April and is firmly focused on delivering its Corporate Strategy. This includes building 1,000 homes of all tenures by 2030 through our wholly owned construction company, Gilbert & Goode, and investing more than £4m per year in our existing homes. Ocean is also undertaking an organisation-wide transformation project to improve services for our customers.
As part of its succession plan, Ocean is seeking to appoint three passionate, strategically focused individuals to join the Board and is particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in the following areas:
* In sector housing experience with a focus on customer and community
* Corporate finance experience in public or commercial sector
* Digital, cyber and IT/transformation expertise
We welcome people who bring independent judgement, integrity, and the confidence to provide constructive challenge—while working collaboratively with fellow Board members and the executive team. Most importantly, we are seeking individuals who can commit to our values and share our aspirations for our residents.
We are committed to retaining a diverse board, reflective of the communities we serve, comprised of people who bring a broad mix of different skills and perspectives. We are keen to attract applicants from the broadest possible range of backgrounds.
Time commitment for the role will be around 2 days a month. Meetings are predominantly face-to-face and held at our offices in St Austell.
