Role Purpose
Help us 'Create the Future' (one of Vodafone's key Spirit behaviours) as we build and scale our new Network API team. The team's purpose is to deliver API products that unlock the value of our technology assets and meet the needs of a new customer - the Developer. We will do this by designing and building a new suite of API products to be scaled across Vodafone markets, commercialising the APIs to maximise value, and growing our channel and portal capabilities to ensure the product gets in the hands of the customer.

We are looking for a disruptor who is ready to change the way our business operates and who will help shape the set-up of our new Network API team.
The Network API team has accountability across all Vodafone markets for directly monetisable APIs and has the single view out to all customers via the Developer Marketplace portal. It is critical that the team has a clear interface with the wider business for API onboarding and in-life performance so that we can maximise the commercial potential.
We are seeking a Commercial Operations Manager who will be the key interface operationally for the wider business and will maintain important assets like API roadmap and performance reporting, to ensure that all stakeholders are clear and updated.
The role will require you to work collaboratively across the full breadth of the Group Enterprise and Consumer product portfolios, working initially with product owners from the mobile, fixed, edge, and cloud portfolios. You will help to gauge commercial and technical readiness for publishing API products in our channels, and you will play a key role in our industry outreach work with the GSMA and CAMARA, representing Vodafone in API product forums and working groups.
NB: the role does not involve commercial bids, contracting activities or P&L accountabilities.
What you'll do
• Lead and own the evolution of the Network API Team roadmap: engage with product owners across Vodafone to understand demand and manage launch prioritisation based on i) commercial potential, ii) technology and technical content readiness, and iii) the funding situation.
• Collaborate with channel (technical and commercial teams) to capture customer and channel onboarding and go-live requirements as well as gauge readiness.
• Run and own the Front Door Forum as a key interface for all API product demand into the Network API team.
• Create and manage reporting dashboards for API product sales and usage analytics. Deliver analysis, insight and recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Represent Vodafone viewpoints and influence outcomes in industry API forums (e.g. GSMA, CAMARA).
• Provide stakeholders with commercial support and direction on API pricing and charging model options.
• Manage the team's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for recording interactions with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Record all deals and prices executed in the team's secure tracking mechanism
• Keep abreast of API industry trends to identify areas of best practice and opportunities for commercial and operational improvements.
Who you are
• Commercially astute, with some experience in sales and pricing strategy.
• Comfortable working with analytics and creating insights.
• Ability to problem solve and communicate with clarity.
• Be a great collaborator and ability to co-ordinate initiatives across key internal teams (Product, Technical, Legal, Finance).
• Curiosity around digital and comfortable challenging the status quo.
