Full-Time SENCO – Large Primary School – Southampton Start Date: September 2025 Location: Fareham area Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm Pay: M1 – M6 (depending on experience) Contract: Full-Time | SENCO | Out-of-Class Role Are you a qualified SENCO looking to lead inclusive practice in a vibrant, diverse and well-supported school community? This is a full-time, non-class based role for a qualified SENCO who is confident in leading on SEND strategy, working with professionals, supporting pupils with complex needs, and managing a large team of support staff. About the Role: As the school’s SENCO, you will play a key strategic and operational role in leading SEND provision across the school. You will work with a wide range of professionals and families to ensure all pupils with additional needs receive high-quality, tailored support. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and coordinating SEND provision, overseeing EHCP processes, and supporting staff through training and guidance. A vital part of your role will be leading the large team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), ensuring weekly check-ins, performance development, and access to meaningful CPD. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with statutory and best practice guidance Coordinate EHCP applications, reviews, and ensure high-needs pupils receive the support they need Work closely with families, external agencies, and the local authority to secure positive outcomes for children Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with SEND Code of Practice Train, support and line manage a large team of LSAs, holding regular check-ins and organising ongoing CPD Contribute to whole-school development planning and work collaboratively with the senior leadership team Monitor the progress of pupils with SEND and ensure effective interventions and strategies are in place Promote inclusive practice and advise teaching staff on appropriate differentiation and classroom strategies We are looking for: A fully qualified teacher (QTS essential) A qualified SENCO (NASENCO award is required) Substantial experience working with pupils with a wide range of additional needs Strong understanding of the EHCP process and SEND legislation Excellent communication and leadership skills A commitment to inclusion and the development of others What You’ll Gain: A full-time strategic SENCO position with the capacity to lead and make change A collaborative and supportive school environment Responsibility for shaping inclusive practice across a large, multi-form entry school Access to high-quality CPD and leadership support Competitive pay and a dedicated consultant from Supply Desk Ready to lead and inspire?
