About your role as an Exercise Physiotherapist
Join our dedicated Multidisciplinary Allied Health team, where you’ll have the opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings with a strong emphasis on our disability services stream.
Our Exercise Physiologist role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and structured training through a supported induction process. You’ll be guided by an onsite supervisor who is committed to your growth and a compassionate management team that prioritizes high-quality care for our NDIS clients.
Our modern, well-equipped therapy centres provide access to a collaborative support team, including a NDIS practice lead, senior staff and multidisciplinary professionals. We deliver therapy across various settings. Within our centres, residential aged care facilities, and the broader community, striving for holistic, person-centred care.
With a team of over 90 professionals across our Sinnamon Park and Chermside campuses, you’ll collaborate with experts in Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, and more all dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for aged care and disability clients.
Key Role Accountabilities
* As an Exercise Physiologist you will provide customer-focused services including high level exercise physiology services to customers presenting with a wide range of disability and functional needs.
* Deliver individual and group services, balancing direct treatment with supervised therapy to enhance the customer experience.
* Work across services and sites within WMQ dependent upon service requirements.
* Complete accurate assessment and review of physical needs of customers, and provide a consultancy service for a range of activities to a wide range of customers.
* Identify opportunities to provide other cross-disciplinary services which may be of benefit to the customer.
* Ensure that the customer is an active participant in the development and review of treatment goals and planning.
About you
* Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology and accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
* Exercise physiology experience working within a community, aged care and/or disability environment, including individual and group intervention.
* High level of verbal and written communication skills particularly in establishing and maintaining rapport with staff, customers and their carers.
* Ability to prioritise and manage individual caseload whilst meeting service and customer needs.
Before you start with WMQ
* Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or WMQ Limited Policy throughout employment and prior to commencement.
* Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
* Hold an Australian Driver’s Licence and the willingness to drive in the course of work.
