We are looking for a clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team at Weymouth Street Hospital. This position would suit an individual looking for flexibility in their working pattern.
Please note: this is a FlexiBank role working on an 'as and when required' basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during periods of annual leave or absence.
Reporting to the Chief Group Pharmacist, the successful clinical pharmacist will have the following responsibilities:
• To provide pharmaceutical expertise and input to the care of the patients within Weymouth Street Hospital and our outpatient clinics at 9 and 25 Harley Street.
• To provide a ward based Clinical Service to the patients at Weymouth Street Hospital
• Influence prescribing practice and medicines management within the Hospital sites
• To support the pharmacy department to delivery an excellent medicine management service to all customers.
• To supervise the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines.
• To be the Responsible Pharmacist
• To facilitate the daily running of the Pharmacy Department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants and customers
• Complete financial tasks and procedures as required, e.g. maintain journals, balance sheet reconciliations, reconcile invoices and charges, and other ad hoc accounting tasks when required
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory, professional and best practice frameworks
• To participate in audit activities, which will improve the quality of the services, provided by the department including medication incident reporting
• Develop and implement Departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Support the Chief Pharmacist to implement and monitor any national guidance; i.e. NICE guidance
Requirements:
• Registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (any existing or pending Fitness to Practice issues must be declared on application)
• Postgraduate Diploma relevant to hospital pharmacy practice is desirable but not essential
• At least 2 years of post registration experience
• Proven experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting is desirable
• Clinical pharmacy experience in a secondary acute setting, or proven ability to transfer clinical skills into an acute setting
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A flexible and proactive approach to work
