The Investment Helpdesk Apprenticeship Programme in our Investment Directorate offers a fantastic alternative to university, combining practical on-the-job experience with structured learning and development.
The Investment Directorate is responsible for shaping the firm’s investment strategy, including asset allocation, selecting and monitoring external fund managers, and ensuring its investment proposition delivers strong outcomes for clients.
Over the course of this 12-month programme, you’ll work in our Cirencester office alongside experienced professionals, gaining real insight into the world of financial services while developing core skills that will support your long-term career.
You’ll be supported every step of the way as you work towards a fully funded qualification You’ll will be supported to study for the Level 4 Financial Services Apprenticeship which will result with a qualification in the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) equipping you with the technical skills you will require for a career in Investments. This apprenticeship opportunity is designed to give you hands-on experience on our Investment Support Desk, developing your knowledge of investments, learning how we respond to queries from Partners and colleagues, and building the skills and confidence to progress your career in financial services.
All apprenticeships are offered as permanent contracts within our organisation, with individuals progressing directly into their substantive roles within the organisation upon successful completion of the programme.
About the team:
The Investment Helpdesk sits within the Chief Investment Office (CIO) and is often the first point of contact for Partners and colleagues with investment-related queries. The team provides clear, timely and accurate information to help Partners support their clients, covering topics such as SJP’s investment approach, our fund range and how markets may impact portfolios. By working closely with other teams across the CIO, the Helpdesk ensures consistent communication and excellent service, playing a vital role in building confidence and trust in SJP’s investment proposition.
Key responsibilities:
1. Learn how to provide technical and administrative support to the Investment Consultancy team.
2. Support colleagues in responding to investment-related queries (via phone and email).
3. Assist in the preparation of materials that explain SJP’s investment proposition and fund range.
4. Help maintain and update digital tools and resources used by Partners and clients.
5. Develop an understanding of markets, investments and portfolio performance.
6. Build core workplace skills such as communication, organisation and teamwork.
What we’re looking for:
7. On track to complete or have attained A-levels (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
8. Minimum level 5 in Math's and English at GCSE
9. strong interest in finance, business or economics.
10. Good communication skills (verbal and written).
11. Confidence in asking questions and seeking guidance.
12. A collaborative approach to working with others.
13. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Special Requirements:
This role will be based full-time in our Cirencester office and you will be required to be in the office 2-3 days per week and more when required.
