About The Role
The Managing Directors (MDs) will sit in the Balance Sheet, Portfolio and Risk advisory team within the EMEA Financial Services practice. We are looking for talent at senior level in London, Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt and Munich.
The MD role focuses on developing the service line across EMEA and covering select clients to deliver the full suite of FTI services. MDs are client‑facing, work‑generating consultants who typically lead smaller projects and serve as delivery leads on large projects in a fast‑paced environment.
What You'll Do
The successful candidates will develop client relationships, design new services, lead pitches and generate their own work from an established network of contacts in EMEA, and lead high‑quality client work.
They will support clients facing crisis and transformation, including but not limited to:
* Balance sheet, capital and liquidity management programs (e.g., Basel IV, liquidity portfolio optimization)
* Portfolio transactions and wind‑downs (e.g., loan portfolio sale, securities portfolio wind‑down)
* Enterprise and financial risk assessments (e.g., credit, market, traded risk, climate risk, stress testing, data & infrastructure)
* Regulatory remediation programs (e.g., supervisory on‑site inspections)
* Portfolio and investment strategies (e.g., sovereign / development fund design & set‑up, AI / infrastructure / climate investment strategy, net‑zero strategy)
* Clients include banks and supervisors, sovereign wealth funds, asset and wealth managers, private markets, asset owners, payments, fintech.

What You Will Need To Succeed
* Proven experience advising senior executives in large financial services firms on transformation programmes and leading complex consulting engagements.
* Strong expertise in balance sheet management, portfolio & investment strategy, portfolio transactions, financial risk management, regulatory remediation and related modelling.
* Experience at a top‑tier consulting firm; experience in a financial services institution or regulator is an advantage.
* Track record of developing new client relationships, generating business ideas, and scoping & pitching projects.
* Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Team orientation, collaborative approach, active listening and influence skills.
* Entrepreneurial spirit and self‑starter ability.
* Curiosity to learn and adapt in an ever‑changing environment.
* Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
