Our probate case load is growing. Not because we chase volume, but because families trust us. We are now looking for an experienced Probate Case Handler to join us in our Evegate office and take ownership of their own portfolio of estates. This is not a support role tucked away in the background. You will be responsible for your own cases. You will be the person executors rely on. You will see estates through properly. The Role You will manage estate administration from instruction through to final distribution. We work with a panel of SRA regulated solicitors who extract the Grant of Probate. You will not be carrying out the reserved activity yourself, but you must understand the grant and IHT process so you can manage your files confidently and intelligently. Your responsibilities will include: Running your own caseload of probate matters Being the main point of contact for executors and beneficiaries Identifying and valuing assets and liabilities Corresponding with banks, investment managers and institutions Liaising with HMRC where required Working alongside our panel solicitors during the grant stage Preparing clear and accurate estate accounts Keeping files compliant, organised and audit-ready We want someone who understands that estate administration is technical, but also deeply personal. About You You will have: At least 2 years’ experience handling probate cases Experience running estates with minimal supervision A solid working knowledge of IHT forms and HMRC processes Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise properly Confidence speaking with bereaved families Good IT skills and comfort using case management systems You will also be someone who: Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told Cares about accuracy and detail Handles sensitive conversations with calm professionalism Understands that probate is about people as much as paperwork About Us We are based at Evegate, an artisan business village with a great working environment and community feel.
