Ecclesiastical Insurance, who are proudly part ofBenefact Groupare looking for a Underwriting Operations Assistantto join ourGloucesteroffice.
This is anexciting opportunity for an entry levelrole into our Head Office Underwriting department. Supporting key functions that provide the resources for underwriters to succeed. This is arare role which can touch varied aspects of the insurance process and an opportunity to grow and develop within the insurance industry.

Key responsibilities
* Provide essential support and administration to the various functions of the team and wider department as necessary meeting defined levels of service (SLAs) to improve underwriting standards
* Support defined pieces of work end to end within agreed timescales
* Administration of reinsurance including monthly and quarterly reconciliation of reinsurance transactions
* Processing reinsurance aggregations, administration of FAC risks, changes to retentions and assisting with reinsurance reconciliations and bordereau returns
* ELTO administration and tracing, following defined processes and procedures, weekly and monthly reporting and monthly reconciliations to ensure data is clean and fit for purpose
* Assist in updating the Underwriting Underwriting Hub, tools and procedures.
* Delivery of Historic claims tracing
* To promote, develop and implement the Company's underwriting philosophy and strategy through the successful delivery of a variety of underwriting functions to maximise performance and achieve company objectives
* Managing and prioritising own workload effectively and escalating any conflicts
* Keep up to date with market conditions, practice and legislation
* Understand and operate within regulatory framework and identify and escalate any risks to the business
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Strong Administrative skills
* Competent IT and data skills [including Microsoft suite]
* The ability to plan, prioritise and manage own work to deliver agreed objectives and meet targets
* Understand, manage, and use information with accuracy
* Pro-active with desire to continuously improve
* Commercial insurance Industry knowledge would be an advantage
* Cert CII or commitment to achieve within an agreed timescale
* Effective and appropriate communication skills
* Commitment to deliver exceptional service contributing both as an individual and as an effective part of a team
* Understanding of all relevant regulations to deliver good customer outcomes
* Understanding of data protection and importance of confidentiality
