The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a proactiveLaboratory Support Technicianto join our team based at the site in Liverpool (Speke), UK. This role is ideal for someone with experience in cleaning, facilities support, or customer service, who enjoys practical work and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
You’ll play a key role in supporting scientific teams by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised lab environment. No prior lab experience is required, just a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to learn.
** Please note this is a manual handling job and you'll spend a lot of time on your feet, so ensure you're comfortable with this before applying **

The Team
You’ll be part of a dedicated team supporting the QC and Flu-BPD laboratories. This role sits within ourLab and Production Services division, which partners with leading pharmaceutical companies and research institutions globally.
What we’re looking for
1. Experience in cleaning, facilities, warehouse, or customer service roles
2. Comfortable with manual work and handling heavy items
3. Good understanding of safety and hygiene practices
4. Basic IT skills (e.g., using email, spreadsheets, online forms)
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
6. A proactive attitude and willingness to support the team
How you'll thrive and create an impact
7. Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of specialised lab equipment
8. Manage chemical and clinical waste removal and general housekeeping
9. Conduct inventory checks and restock lab consumables and PPE stations
10. Maintain accurate records of lab activities and equipment performance
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to SHE audits
