Autism Support Specialist – Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Temporary – Calthorpe Academy, B12 0TP Salary: £90–£100 per day The School and Role ABC Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated Autism Support Specialist to join the team at Calthorpe Academy in Birmingham. This large SEND school supports pupils aged 2–19, with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), alongside a broad range of additional needs. The school provides a highly personalised, EHCP-led curriculum designed to build communication, independence, and life skills. As an ASC Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups. Your role will include delivering structured learning, supporting social and emotional development, and implementing communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, and Intensive Interaction. The ideal candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and patient, with experience working with pupils with ASC or complex needs.
