Private Client Solicitor \nNorthampton\nMonday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15\nCompetitive Salary, dependant on experience \n\nWe have partnered with a progressive legal firm, who are seeking a skilled and experienced Private Client Lawyer to join their Wills and Probate team in Northampton. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload with a focus on probate, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection matters.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManage estates from instruction through to final distribution\nApply for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration\nHandle tax matters (Inheritance, Income, and Capital Gains Tax)\nOversee asset collection, liabilities, and estate accounts\nAdvise on tax planning and prepare Deeds of Variation\nTake client instructions and assess capacity when necessary\nProvide tax advice and draft complex wills\nPrepare statutory wills as needed\nOffer comprehensive advice on trusts and tax implications\nDraft trust documentation and assist with tax mitigation strategies\nAdvise and draft Lasting Powers of Attorney\nRegister Enduring Powers of Attorney\nAct as a Certificate Provider\nManage clients’ financial affairs (with or without Power of Attorney)\nHandle DSS benefit applications and advise on care funding\nKnowledge of social care and CHC funding is an asset\nSubmit Deputyship applications and ensure compliance with court orders\nManage the affairs of patients under Court of Protection\nDemonstrated success in business development and client relationship management \n\n The Ideal Candidate:\n\nThe ideal candidate will have 4 years PQE.\nSFE and STEP membership is an advantage
