About the role
Background and details:
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager that is self-motivated and well organised with an ambition to succeed. You will be based in our Redditch Head Office acting as the key liaison between the customer and support services to provide exemplary customer service. A key part of the role is overseeing the management and development of the Accounting Team to effectively deliver financial tasks. This role is ideal for a candidate who is keen to engage in continuous improvement to recommend and implement changes that will improve the company's financial performance and financial records.
Experience, Qualifications and Competencies:
Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA
Expert knowledge in VAT
Commercial experience
Experience of managing direct reports
Advanced excel skills
Flexible outlook to working hours when required (month end process)
High attention to detail with experience of delivering process improvements - desirable
Previous experience in a similar sector - desirable
Duties and responsibilities:
Manage the performance of the Accounting team to deliver departmental objectives
Produce monthly internal and Group reports, including commentary and variance analysis
Maintain and develop the financial control framework, including accountabilities and authorities to ensure robust financial control
Point of contact for internal and external auditors
Management of Accounts Payable and Banking functions, including foreign exchange purchasing and exposure
Develop and enhance the reporting of financial and operational performance including cost control
Preparation of VAT returns and Intrastat reports
Coach and develop the Accounting team
