Director of Emerging Technology Delivery
Location: Emersons Green, Bristol, BS16 7FS
Hybrid Working: 2 days on site, 3 days homeworking
Salary: £83,693 to £107,061 per annum experience dependent + 12.5% employer pension + Package
Security Clearance: High level of government security clearance required

Role Overview
As Director of Emerging Technology Delivery you will lead the exploration and delivery of emerging technologies for the UK Defence sector, working closely with government, industry and academia to deliver impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a visionary leader investigating emerging technology markets and defining strategy to contribute to UK national objectives
* Oversee large-scale technology programmes in defence, driving delivery against portfolio objectives
* Develop and support the NCC adoption of agile and matrix‑managed project delivery across programmes
* Set strategic direction for technical programme delivery, partnering with clients to accelerate business growth
* Build a network of senior leaders across innovation, industry, professional services and allied organisations
* Line‑manage 3 head‑level staff and wider responsibility for a department of ~40 people
* Manage budgets on projects ranging from £10 to £100 million
* Represent NCC on business and industry initiatives, informing organisational thought leadership
* Drive high‑priority projects and secure public and private sector funding to deliver outcomes
* Develop the talents of the wider organisation and deliver through others in a matrix organisation
Qualifications
* Director‑level experience or senior head ready to move into directorship
* In‑depth knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to manufacturing and defence industries
* Technology or digital transformation experience, including new target operating models and business culture change
* Successful history overseeing large‑scale, complex technical projects
* Defence or manufacturing industry experience, ideally both
* Willingness to obtain high‑level government security clearance
* Track record of strong leadership, delivery through others and developing high‑performing teams
* Programme management skills, ideally in Agile and Waterfall methods
* Desirable: Experience supporting business growth interventions; exposure to Engineering, Aerospace, Marine, Nuclear, Space or Quantum
