As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a pupil's academic, social, and emotional needs. The role requires a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to help the pupil engage with learning, manage behaviour, and build confidence within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD and Autism.
* Implement personalised strategies to support focus, engagement, and emotional regulation.
* Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and support social interaction.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development.
* Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
Requirements
* Experience supporting children with Autism and/or ADHD.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN support techniques.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
