Job summary
A Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is required for the South Bedfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The post is an 8 PA substantive post, though a fixed-term contract will also be considered. The post-holder will join the Neurodevelopmental Team in South Bedfordshire. NDT is a long-established service for the assessment and treatment of young people up to the age of 18 years, their families, and carers living in South Bedfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The role of the consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment where appropriate, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies, and facilitate the development of the team and wider service.
The consultant will work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of the service. They will share medical contributions to management with consultant colleagues. The post-holder will observe the policies of the East London Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and adhere to Trust policies, in accordance with the terms and conditions of service.

* MRCPsych parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
