We are seeking an experienced Freelance Tender Planner to support bid and tender processes for major civil engineering projects across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring that project programmes are accurate, commercially robust, and contractually compliant.
The Role
As a Freelance Tender Planner, you will develop and review project schedules during the pre-construction phase. You will work closely with commercial and project teams to produce realistic and achievable programmes that strengthen bid submissions and tender evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare tender programmes for major heavy civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
* Use Primavera P6 to develop clear, realistic, and commercially compliant project schedules.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure bid programmes reflect construction methodology, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
* Assess feasibility, phasing, and sequencing of proposed works for tenders.
* Provide programme-related insights to support bid strategy and highlight potential risks or opportunities.
* Ensure tender programmes comply with NEC or other relevant contract requirements.
* Contribute to bid documentation, presentations, and client submissions.
* Maintain accurate records of tender schedules and updates.
About You
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls for heavy civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and understanding of NEC or similar contract planning requirements.
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project phasing, and resource planning.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage multiple tender programmes simultaneously.
