About Us

Seed Talks is a fast-growing talks and events platform curating live experiences across the UK and Ireland, featuring leading thinkers in psychology, neuroscience, wellness, psychedelics, feminism, and more.

Since launching in late 2021, we’ve rapidly expanded to programming over 50 monthly events and sold 116,000+ tickets in 2024 alone. Our offerings now include talks, workshops, online courses, and small-scale conferences, with future growth focused on expanding our digital education, community membership, and international reach.

We’re a close-knit team of 12 (including part-timers), and we're excited to welcome someone with expertise in online education to help shape our next chapter.

The Role

This is a strategic leadership position. You will own growth across all our business verticals. You’ll report to the founder and work closely with the marketing and operations teams, with direct reports from both teams. You will work alongside our Office Manager on internal processes and some aspects of HR & recruitment.

We are an agile and focused company that dedicates resources only to tasks and projects that give us an immediate ROI. For that reason, some aspects of the company are immature or unbuilt. We are looking for someone who can craft teams and efficient processes from the ground up, developing us into a more well-rounded organisation.

We make decisions by blending our personal intuition with a high degree of a/b testing and data analysis. Seed Talks is a ‘bootstrapped’ start-up that has been profitable since year one. We want someone who can balance increasing our revenue with maintaining a profit margin.

This role will require expertise in many different areas: marketing, management, finance, operations, event management, research, creative event planning and leadership. In one day at Seed Talks you could be speaking with an ADHD psychiatrist, an anime historian, a venue programmer, an AV hire company and a book publisher. We need someone with the background to understand and thrive in these multifaceted environments. A lot of our content is highly sensitive and requires a lot of care and emotional intelligence.

If you're commercially sharp, curious, ambitious, data-obsessed, and have a deep interest in the future of education and culture, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

* Manage the P&L for the company: ensuring each event vertical is profitable and worth investing time and resources into.
* Oversee programming: selecting which event types we do each quarter (talk, workshop, book tour, conference etc) and which topics we program.
* Develop product & digital infrastructure: We are long overdue a website design and will develop an app in the future.
* Build and maintain partnerships: Drive growth via collaborations and be the key point of contact for our main partners (publishers).
* Build and maintain relationships: We work with 100+ speakers and over 50 venues. Maintaining these relationships requires nuance and emotional intelligence.
* Develop new business verticals: Could we expand our merch line, or start hosting retreats? We want you to develop these new verticals for us
* Develop new content: What is our new sellout topic going to be? You will be responsible for finding it along with the wider team
* Oversee performance marketing: Analyse and scale our paid media (Meta). Grow into new platforms (Google, Linkedin, Tiktok, Reddit)
* Optimise conversion: develop strategies across copy, creatives, landing pages, A/B testing and checkout flows
* Drive retention & LTV: oversee comms strategy across email, socials, and repeat booking incentives. Develop our community and subscription offerings
* Manage team & budget: guide junior staff and freelancers, allocate budget efficiently

You Might Be A Fit If You...

* Have 5+ years’ experience in a growth or performance marketing role (event, online education, media or DTC background preferred)
* Have worked in a startup, business development or similar environment before. The role will be results driven and challenging.
* Have experience in paid ads (or overseeing the performance of them)
* Understand customer psychology and can translate insights into strategy
* Can confidently navigate Google Sheets, dashboards, and analytics tools
* Decent level of mathematics is required to interpret our data easily
* Love experimenting, testing hypotheses, and making data-led decisions
* Have experience leading small teams or freelancers
* Have a sharp eye for copy and creative performance
* Have an entrepreneurial mindset and want to help build something from the ground up. We want someone who isn’t afraid to create something out of nothing!
* Are interested in any of our core areas — mental health, neurodiversity, psychology, pop culture, education, feminism & history
* Bonus for a degree related to our core subjects (STEM, mental health, wellbeing, literature, history etc)

Perks & Benefits

* Competitive salary and performance-linked bonus
* Hybrid working, with semi-flexible hours. We do our best to have a positive culture here with a focus on good work-life balance.
* Free entry to all Seed Talks events
* Opportunity to shape the future of a high-growth, mission-led company
* A high degree of agency and independence
* Cycle to work scheme, basic health insurance
* Budget for courses, conferences and self-development
