Overview
We have a vacancy for a full time, Band 3, Healthcare Assistant in the Community Peritoneal Dialysis department at Salford Royal Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Provide care and support to patients within the hospital and community setting regarding all aspects of Community Peritoneal Dialysis.
* Work with the renal team to support patient education and renal foundation training programs as part of ongoing professional development.
* Deliver care with teamwork, initiative, and strong communication, compassion and IT skills.
* Follow standard NHS terms and conditions and maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
Requirements and Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 in health and social care or equivalent with at least 2 years experience in the NHS or an equivalent health care setting. Renal experience with some knowledge of dialysis is desirable.
* Full drivers license and access to a roadworthy car. Business insurance is required.
* Excellent communication, confidence, compassion, interpersonal and IT skills.
Salary and Conditions
Starting salary: £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. Additional Information
You will be providing care for patients and families on peritoneal dialysis at home and in hospital across the west sector of Greater Manchester. The team also supports community peritoneal and home haemodialysis, and CKD management. The Trust offers opportunities for renal-specific education and professional development.
