We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Administrator to manage the end-to-end Sales Ledger (Accounts Receivable) function. The role involves handling customer invoicing and payments, credit control, account reconciliations and providing efficient support to both internal teams and external customers across multiple depots.
Key Responsibilities:
6. Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external sales ledger queries regarding invoices and payments
7. Set up new customer accounts, carrying out basic credit checks where required, and maintain accurate customer records
8. Accurately allocate incoming customer payments including BACS, direct debits, cheques and card payments
9. Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances and proactively chase outstanding debt via phone, email and written correspondence, in line with agreed procedures
10. Issue customer statements and manage ongoing account communications
11. Maintain accurate electronic and/or manual records for all sales ledger documentation
12. Support general finance administration and assist across the department as required
Who we’re looking for:
13. Proven experience in a sales ledger, accounts receivable, credit control or accounts administration role
14. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and experience using accounting software such as Sage
15. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
16. Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines
17. Confident communicator with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, able to chase debt while maintaining positive customer relationships
18. Proactive, professional and methodical approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable:
20. AAT qualification or working towards one
21. GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C or equivalent)
