Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | 39 hours/week + Overtime
Salary:
* Starting pay: £18.00/hour
* £51,900+ based on a 50-hour week
* £65,600+ based on a 60-hour week

* Overtime pay: 1.5x for first 4 hours/day, 2x beyond that
* On-call rota: £100/week standby + 4hr minimum paid at double time per call-out

Plant Fitter Overview:
We are hiring a skilled Plant Fitter, Construction Plant Engineer or Heavy Plant Mechanic to join our mobile service team operating across the Urray region. This is a field-based role carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of heavy construction and plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities of the Plant Fitter
* Service, inspect and repair plant and construction machinery at customer sites
* Fault-find and repair diesel, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
* Attend breakdowns on-site via shared on-call rota (standby and call-out pay included)
* Complete job sheets, timesheets, and digital records accurately
* Work independently while coordinating with the parts and service team
* Help train or support junior technicians when required
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with compliance standards
Essential Requirements
* NVQ / SVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plant, Agricultural, Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering
* Experience with heavy plant, construction equipment or mobile machinery
* Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics and fault finding
* Strong work ethic and time management – able to work independently in the field
* Basic IT/computer skills for job reporting
* Full UK Driving Licence
