Your Role as an Industries & Vocational Training Manager
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Industries & Vocational Training Manager to join our Education team at HMP Peterborough. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead within the prison, ensuring the delivery of meaningful, accredited work and skills training to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
You will oversee all industries, workshops, and land-based areas, ensuring a respectful, safe, and productive environment for prisoners and staff. Responsibilities include managing income-generating contracts, production targets, health and safety, and implementing national policies tailored to the local setting. You will also lead staff development and accreditation delivery, ensuring team members are fully trained to support our operational and educational objectives.
This demanding but rewarding role requires strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a strong commitment to rehabilitation through employment-focused training. Additionally, you will contribute to long-term planning, build partnerships with external stakeholders, and play a key role in inspection readiness and performance monitoring.

Essential:
* A clear understanding of the demands of a prison environment
* Experience managing prisoners and working within a secure setting
* Passion for resident care reflecting Sodexo values and principles
* Thorough understanding of performance indicators
* Knowledge of people management tools, including capability frameworks and performance management processes
* Commitment to personal development and developing others
